Teaching a Program

Teaching a Program

The Volunteer Family is looking for a few good friends to become volunteer teachers of the new Future Philanthropists program.  Come help us as we launch our innovative and exciting new program.

The Future Philanthropists program is designed to foster student’s desire to help their communities. By entrusting youth to give away real money to nonprofit organizations, you will teach the next generation about the needs that exist in their own neighborhoods, their role as active citizens, and the meaning of giving back.  Using teamwork, collaboration and leadership skills, students are empowered to help the most deserving charities while simultaneously strengthening their ability to write, create effective budgets, and present to one another.

The program consists of 10-13 sessions, with a check ceremony at the end.  Because we will provide individualized training and an extensive, detailed curriculum, teachers do not need prior knowledge of nonprofit management or philanthropic organizations.  We will coach you on the best way to lead groups of students through the process of choosing the most qualified nonprofits.  Teachers are required to attend each session and make scheduling arrangements to visit the nonprofit agencies.

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic teachers to help us meet the anticipated demand for this opportunity.
